Hundreds of villagers witnessed the race events including ‘maralu thumbida gadi’ and ‘chakra kattida gadi’. Farmers brought their fully decorated bullock carts. While a total of 53 carts were there in the Maralu thumbida gadi event, 20 carts were run in the chakra kattida gadi. People from Mysore, Hassan, Shimoga and Chitradurga reached the village to witness the event. Farmers, who participated in the race, had brought their bullock cart after decorating it specially. Pattegowda of Hampapura won the first place in the ‘maralu thumbida gadi’ race, while Ravi Malenahalli and Ashoka Hebbooru bagged the second and third prizes respectively.
