'Acharya unfit to be Home Minister'

These words were uttered by not an Opposition stalwart, but the BJP Rajya Sabha member K B Shanappa. Address the media here, Shanappa was extremely critical of the government regarding the Tarfail incident where police arrested many persons after being attacked by a mob.

Launching a verbal tirade against the Chief Minister, Home Minister and the minister in charge of the district, Shanappa said he had contacted Acharya the very day of the incident, but had received no response. “As a person, Acharya is a decent human. But there are times one should not mince words,” Shanappa said.
Using words dripping with sarcasm he said the Chief minister was “A bigger Acharya.”
