Advance bail to Baderiya's son: SIT gets time to file objection

Last Updated 28 June 2017, 21:28 IST

The High Court on Wednesday granted one-week time to Lokayukta’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) to file its objections to the anticipatory bail application filed by Gagan Baderiya, son of IAS officer Gangaram Baderiya.

Gagan had approached the court after SIT issued notice to him to appear before it for an enquiry. Gagan is said to have received some money from Vinod Goel of Janthakal Enterprises. The petitioner has contended that the amount was taken for a different purpose as he is a musician and that the SIT was trying to fix him in the illegal mining case. Justice Rathnakala adjourned the next hearing to July 10.

Gangaram Baderiya, an accused in the case, was earlier arrested by the SIT. The officer was accused of taking bribe through a cheque issued in the name of Gagan Baderiya.
