Kareena to step into Marilyn Monroe's shoes in Madhur's next

The blonde sex symbol lived a turbulent life and died at the age of 36 of an overdose, amid speculation of murder. And now Kareena is set to bring her tragic life to the silver screen.

National award winner Madhur Bhandarkar who has been researching the subject for quite a while chose Kareena since he believed that only she could do justice to the character, sources said. Madhur's film is inspired by the 'Seven Year Itch' star's life which is quite a controversial subject in itself.

However after having his material in place and convincing Kareena to play the lead, Madhur has no doubt that the film will turn out well, added the sources. Madhur, known for his style of mirroring reality in his films, is currently in talks with male actors to star opposite Kareena.
