CM's housing scheme for B'luru's poor

The “Chief Minister’s One Lakh Bengaluru Multi-storey Housing Scheme” to provide homes to poor people who don’t own houses will be launched soon, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced on Wednesday.


Participating in a review meeting with Housing, BBMP, Revenue and Finance department officials, Siddaramaiah directed officials to finalise the modalities at the earliest.


He said the Revenue department should transfer land for the project to the Housing department. Siddaramaiah, who also holds the Finance portfolio, had announced the project in the state budget proposals for 2017-18. Housing department officials said 1,130 acres of land had already been identified for the project.


The parameters to identify beneficiaries include: family annual income should not exceed Rs 87,600, should be a Bengalurean, should not own a house or property or availed benefits in any other scheme.
