Last Updated 07 July 2017, 18:34 IST

Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi, who is yet to make his presence felt on-screen this year, is back in news for his first home production, Captain Nawab. While earlier he has been seen playing a top cop in films like Zeher (2005) and Ungli (2014), the B-Town star will this time be seen playing an army man.
Tells the director Anthony D’Souza “The film is about a spy who lands in the Pakistani army. It’s an action film, but at the core, it’s an anti-war movie. It falls in the spy thriller genre, but we are trying to make a film, that appeals to a wide audience. Since it is Emraan’s first production, he is involved in most aspects, including costs and scripting.”

Reportedly, the actor will be receiving training from the Indian Army and is also being tutored to perfect his Urdu.

“He is to train with the members of the Indian Army to get the mannerisms and the use of arms right. He will also be taking lessons in Urdu to come across convincingly as a character from Pakistan”, confirms Anthony. The movie is a spy thriller which is Anthony’s second association with Emraan as an actor.
