Elections not a cakewalk, says Motamma

Last Updated 04 April 2010, 17:53 IST

Speaking to mediapersons in Dharwad on Sunday, she said, majority of educated class abstained themselves from exercising the franchise, hence less percentage of polling has taken place. This would turn out to be a major setback to the BJP, she added.

Citing few examples, Motamma said, the Government has literally failed to conduct elections in a fair manner. Votes were purchased and also tenders pertaining to development works to the tune of hundred of crores were passed overnight. This itself revealed the BJP’s greed for power and its neglect towards the all round development of the State, she charged.

Motamma came down heavily on B S Yeddyurappa stating that the chief minister is giving vague answers to the questions posed by the Opposition parties in both the houses.
Answering to a question, Motamma said, the decision of joining hands with the JD(S) is left to the party high command. After the BBMP results are declared, a suitable decision would be taken, she added.
