Centre urged to take up Ladakh route

Last Updated 04 April 2010, 17:59 IST

Addressing a press conference in Bangalore, BJP national spokesperson Tarun Vijay said the Ladakh route should be one of the main agenda during Krishna’s visit to China where he will be formally kicking off six-month-long celebrations to mark the 60th year of establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

He said the Ladakh route will help in reducing the distance for pilgrims from India to visit Mansarovar. Vijay said trade between the two countries is tilted in favour of China and needs to be set right.

India also needs to impress upon China to withdraw its decision to issue visas to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir on separate sheets and not stamped on the passport.
