<div align="justify">Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has begun issuing student concessional bus passes in pre-printed card and newly introduced smart card formats for the year 2017-2018.<br /><br />Students, who have opted for pre-printed passes, need to compulsorily switch over to smart cards. This can be done from August 1 to September 30. A smart card processing fee of Rs 130 would be charged to replace it from the manual passes. These passes can be availed at major bus stands in the city including Bangalore One centres.<br /><br />BMTC is providing free bus passes for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes students. A processing fee of Rs 130 for pre-printed cards and Rs 25 as annual fee for smart cards have to be paid by these SC/ST students. On day one, pass issuing counters at a few locations were crowded making it difficult for the staff to issue smart cards.<br /><br /></div>
