Bollywood take Twitter to condemn Amarnath attack

A day after the sensational attack on Amarnath yatris in Anantnag in Jammu & Kashmir, celebrities took Twitter and social media platforms to condemn the attack and praying for the victims.

"Saddening to see innocent lives being taken. Prayers for the victims & may God give strength to the families of the #AmarnathYatra pilgrims," Bollywood baadshah Shah Rukh Khan tweeted.

"A tragic night ! Time for the nation to stand together and defeat the sinister designs of the terrorists to divide us," said filmmaker-activist Mahesh Bhatt.

"Deeply saddened and appalled by the attacks on the #AmarnathYatra pilgrims....thoughts and prayers with the grieving families," producer-director Karan Johar said.

"Attack on innocent #AmarnathYatra pilgrims is a low of another level! Angry and sad...prayers for all those affected," Akshay Kumar said.

"My prayers are with #AmarnathYatra attack victims & their families. This disgusting act of cowardice is beyond any reason of any kind," filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar said.

"For years Kashmiri Muslims have helped Hindu brothers undertake #AmarnathYatra.Shame on terrorists. We will not let hate win#UnitedWeStand," actress Huma Qureshi said.

Reacting strongly, Riteish Deshmukh said: "Wage a direct war & see who wins... how does killing innocent help whatever cause you are fighting for. #AmarnathTerrorAttack. People on pilgrimage attached by terrorists. Shameful & deplorable act. My heart goes out to the families of the victims.Deepest Condolences."

"It is high time we Stop being diplomatic & defensive. Killing of innocent people should be dealt with total force. #AmarnathYatra," said veteran actor Anupam Kher.

"Salutes to U Driver Salim for saving the #AmarnathYatris .Should be awarded with d highest bravery award.#IndiaForAmarnath," tweeted Ashok Pandit, the president of Indian Film & Television Directors Association. 


Tendulkar too condemn attack

"Deeply disturbed by the terror attack on #AmarnathYatra pilgrims. Thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims and their families," cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, a recipient of Bharatratna said.
