 Shweta AgarwalShweta’s shoe fetish

Shweta Agarwal, the stunner who made her debut in Vikram Bhatt’s Shaapith, has a crazy shoe fetish. The proof of this is her enormous collection of over 150 pairs of shoes. We come to hear Shweta houses the snazziest brands right from Jimmy Choo , Gucci, Christian Louboutin to Prada, Marc Jacobs and the likes.

Reveals a source close to the actress, “Shweta has a staggering collection of shoes and picks them up whenever she travels. She has a shoe closet that hosts the best brands and yes, if you ever need to gift Shweta anything, it has to be shoes, shoes and more shoes.” In fact, we come to hear that Vikram Bhatt — the producer/director of Shaapith, was so happy with Shweta’s performance in the film that he gifted her a pair of Jimmy Choos. “Vikram and everyone on the set knew of Shweta’s shoe fetish and Vikram would often tease her saying he would make a shoe closet only for her collection of shoes,” adds the source.

‘I can finally do movies I believe in’

He is one of the best known action stars in Bollywood but actor Sunny Deol, who returns to the big screen after a gap of three years, is looking forward to more meaningful and performance-oriented cinema. The soft-spoken actor, known for movies like Ghayal, Ziddi, Damini and Gadar, is happy with the critics’ response to his role in Right Yaaa Wrong, which released recently.

Sunny Deol The actor says it has encouraged him to try out different things.

“I don’t always have to be someone banging people all the time onscreen. People are going to see a different me which has been so much a part of me but was not explored earlier,” says Sunny. The star son of Bollywood veteran Dharmendra, feels that he got trapped in the whole ‘action star’ image as the producers were unwilling to cast him in different roles.

However, he is confident that it is going to change with the kind of films he is doing.
“I had an image and the producers were not willing to try different things. I feel Right Yaaa Wrong has helped me a lot to break from that image. It is the right time to do the kind of cinema I believe in without worrying much about my image,” says Sunny.

His last films Fox, Kaafila and Teesri Aankh did not do well at the box office. In Heroes and Fool N Final, he did not have much to do while Apne, his last success, had released three years back.

Sunny, who is also a producer, took a break from the movie business because of his poor health.

“For a long time, I was not keeping well because of my back and then, you have to keep the financial aspects in mind. There weren’t many great projects. The time was not right,” he says.

Best body in business

The dark horse Prateik Babbar, who stole our hearts with his endearing performance in the award-winning Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, has gone from understated to chiselled hot. Prateik now flaunts a super-fit toned body that will put most people to shame. The credit of this goes to his gruelling but innovative fitness regime. And keeping true to his unconventional image, Prateik has opted for unique ways of working towards a great body. He has taken up to kalaripayattu, yoga and dance on a regular basis.

Reveals a source, “Prateik is very fitness-oriented and apart from the normal routines in the gym, he has also taken up a different style of yoga which combines yoga with a unique Dravidian form of martial arts called kalaripayattu — the mother of martial arts, that works on your physical, mental and spiritual development.”

Prateik has also trained in salsa with dance expert Sandip Soparrkar, and hopes to continue learning other South American dance forms. Ask Prateik about his fitness mantra and pat comes the reply, “Eat healthy, exercise regularly and every now and then, do not forget to binge on your favourite food to keep the cravings satisfied too.”

And he does have a weakness — milkshakes. “Prateik absolutely loves milkshakes, especially chocolate milkshakes. In fact, he is quite a milk fan and has at least a couple of glasses of super chilled milk a day,” adds the source.

Prateik will soon be seen in some challenging roles starting with Kiran Rao’s Dhobhi Ghat with Aamir Khan Productions and Rohan Sippy’s Dum Maro Dum. He will also be playing the role of Pinto in Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions’ My Friend Pinto.

Inspiring the youngsters

Eros International and Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull brings to the big screen — the incandescent Randhir Kapoor, after ages. In fact, merely having him present on the sets had pepped up the Housefull team so much that they all gave their 100 per cent.
We come to hear that Randhir Kapoor (63) would shoot from 9 am to 6 pm and still remain his jovial self and would even sit on the sets irrespective of whether he had to give a shot or not. When the rest of the cast, out of concern, would ask Randhir to rest, he would simply say, “When you work, you work”. This inspired the rest of the cast to sit on the sets and encourage each other.

Reveals a source, “Randhir Kapoor surprised everyone on the sets with his professionalism. He was very accommodating. And when it comes to his acting, his comic timing is impeccable. He was truly an inspiration on the sets.”
