Contempt proceedings against govt dropped

The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday dropped the contempt proceedings against the state government in a petition filed by N S Leesha, the Malleswaram blast victim who had moved the court contending that the government has not complied with the court’s order of giving her a government job.

A division bench, comprising Justice Jayant Patel and Justice S Sujatha, dropped the contempt proceedings after the government submitted the order dated July 25, appointing Leesha to the post of First Division Assistant (Group C) under direct recruitment.
