Shreyas bags six wickets as KSCA rally against Tripura

Shreyas Gopal bagged a six-wicket haul as KSCA XI staged a fine comeback against Tripura Cricket Association on the opening day of their Dr (Capt) K Thimmappiah Memorial tournament here at the RSI ground on Thursday.

Riding on a century from Smit Patel (133, 189b, 20x4, 4x6), Tripura made a decent 297 all out in 76.1 overs. The Rajat Dey-captained side were sitting pretty at once stage to post a bigger total but Shreyas applied the brakes on the innings. The leg-spinning all-rounder bagged 6/93 as Tripura lost their way from a healthy position of 231/5.

In response, the hosts were 27/0 with Abhishek Reddy (19) and Mayank Agarwal (8) at the middle.
In another game, Ajay Yadav’s six-for helped Jharkhand State Cricket Association bundle out KSCA Colts to a paltry 188 in 49.4 overs.

However, the Colts fought back to reduce Jharkhand to 91/6 at stumps. S Arvind (2/38), Vyshak V (2/35) and KC Cariappa (2/9) bagged two wickets apiece.
