The Magic Box at Cauvery Theatre junction will be closed for two weeks due to a renovation work that will begin on Monday. The BBMP has decided to renovate the junction with white topping. The tender process has been completed and the contractors will start the work shortly, a BBMP engineer said.

The Palike had constructed the underpass using the magic box technology. There has been a tremendous increase in vehicular density through this passage. Waterlogging during rains had damaged the road, the engineer added. Several commuters had complained regarding the potholes on the stretch.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic East Division), Abhishek Goyal said, “The BBMP officials had requested to stop movement of vehicles through the underpass to facilitate renovation. Vehicles coming from Yeshwantpur, Malleswaram and Sadashivangar have to take a deviation of around 1.30 km  to reach Ballari Road.

Deviations

n Vehicles from Maramma Circle can reach Malleswaram through Margosa Road.

nVehicles coming from Bashyam Circle can take the service road near Cauvery junction or take a deviation from Ramana Maharshi Road to go to Mehkri Circle.
