JOIN USBengaluru Development Minister K J George on Tuesday took officials to task over the defunct water purifying machines and lack of water.
At the quarterly review meeting of the Bengaluru Urban Zilla Panchayat at Banashankari, he said in the coming days, water crisis is going to worsen in the district. Time warrants quick response to meet the challenge. However, the officials are quite casual in their approach. They want to get away by giving some reply, he said.
He reminded the officials that the monsoon has so far failed as the district has received 36% of the expected rain. The progress of sowing seeds is only 13.75%. But there is scope for sowing Ragi till August 15, he added.
George asked the officers to prepare an action plan in the event of deficient rainfall in the district and supply water to irrigate Ragi fields.
