'Free health camps a boon'

NGOs , service-minded organisations are helping the poor

 Many NGOs and service-minded organisations are coming to the help of such people, said Sri Venkateshwara Rural Health Education and Development Organisation president Dr Venkatachalapathy.

He was speaking at the inauguration of Free Health Check-up camp organised at B Hosur in the taluk.

The camp was jointly organised by Devraj Urs Medical College, Kolar and Rotary Club in memory of Sonnamma Venkatswamy on Thursday.
The villagers should keep their premises and vicinity clean which has been polluted due to various reasons.

They should stop diseases from spreading, Venkatachalapathy warned. C Byregowda Technical University Secretary V Krishna Reddy who inaugurated the camp said that more than 18,000 people had been benefited till now from the camps held in the village. As many as 850 people have undergone surgeries, he added.
Devraj Urs Medical College’s Dr Rangappa who spoke on the occasion suggested people to make use of the free health check-up camps to maintain their health.
 Retired Director of the Agriculture Department V Muniswamy who presided over the programme said that free food, medicine and ambulance facility was being provided to patients at check-up camps. 

Dr Shubha, Narayan and others were present on the occasion.
More than 600 people were treated in the camp and 70 people have been identified for surgery. Free medicines were distributed.
