Tamil Nadu Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Monday announced that rebel leader and former chief minister O Panneerselvam (OPS) will be the convener of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). He was addressing the press conference in party headquarters after the merger of two AIADMK factions led by party general secretary VK Sasikala and OPS.
Palaniswami termed the merger as the historic event in the history of Tamil Nadu politics and promised to fulfill all the promises made by late leader and former chief minister J Jayalalithaa. "It's a historic event in Tamil Nadu politics. OPS will be co-ordinator for AIADMK. We have crossed several hurdles after the death of "Puratchithalaivi" (Jayalalithaa). We will be working together to fulfill all the promises made by Amma," he said.
