Man questioned over Kingfisher bomb ends life

The body of Sunil Lawrence (25) was found hanging at his residence at Valiyathura, hardly a kilometre from the airport on Friday, police said. Lawrence was employed with Universal Aviation Service which had come in for scrutiny following the discovery of the crude bomb from a flight which reached here from Bangalore.

According to police, a suicide note purportedly written by Lawrence was also recovered from his house.

Though Lawrence blamed none for his extreme step, he said he had unwittingly furnished wrong information to the police regarding his arrival for duty on March 21. This had upset him very much since he had a fear for the police since childhood.

In the note, he ‘congratulated’ the police for the investigations and wanted the culprit to be brought to book. However, he said he was not happy with the questioning of innocent people.

The crude bomb was found in the cargo-hold of the aircraft.
