I am happy, says Purohit on being granted bail

A day after the Supreme Court granted him bail, Indian Army officer Lt Col Shrikant Prasad Purohit on Tuesday said that he was happy with the order of the apex court.

"I am happy," he smiled at the battery of newspersons as he was being escorted out of the Taloja prison to the Mumbai Sessions Court for completing the formalities. "I will speak to you later," he said, when he was faced with a battery of questions.

On Monday, Col Purohit, who is an accsued in the Malegaon blast case, was granted bail by the Supreme Court. He is likely to be released from prison on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning.
