CPI stages stir against price hike

CPI District Secretary Amjad addressing party workers said that poor people do not have the capacity to buy commodities as the prices are skyrocketing day by day. Ration system in the State too has become ineffective that the government has failed to ensure essential food commodities through ration shops, he added.

While prices of rice, wheat, cereals, sugar, oil and vegetable is increasing uncontrollably on one side, bus fares are also have been hiked due to increase in the fuel price. Moreover, the life of poor people has been made more miserable as the price of milk was increased by Rs 4 per litre, Amjad said. Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has failed to find solution to the power crisis. Government should take measures immediately to ensure uninterrupted power supply during examination days, he demanded.

CPI District Joint Secretary G Raghu, Taluk Secretary George Austin, Joint Secretary Keremakki Ramesh, State Executive Member H M Renukaradhya, leaders V B Sundara, S K Danu, K Gunashekharan, Hedadal Kumar, K R Nirvanappa and S Vijayakumar were present.
