The Haryana police today claimed to have “credible” incriminating evidence that points towards a well-orchestrated plan by Dera followers to trigger violence in case the Friday verdict went against the Dera chief, sources said.

Investigating the conspiracy angle that led to large scale violence in Panchkula and elsewhere on Friday, the police today booked two top officials of the Dera Sacha Sauda, including its chief spokesperson, under various sections of the IPC. The reporter claims to be privy to the conversation between the sect representatives that indicated to be inciting violence.

There are as many as 131 Dera establishment in Haryana alone, most of these have been sentitized by the police in the last two days, something they should have done routinely to keep tabs on such sects. The government has drawn flak from various quarters, including the High Court, for its failure to deal with the situation in the desired manner.

An AK-47 assault rifle, 72 petrol bombs from both states and other weapons have been recovered from Dera followers. A fire tender of the sect was also confiscated today. Sources said, the vehicle may have been custom made from inside to store petrol. As many as 200 packets of red-chilly powers have also been recovered.

A few video recordings have come to fore that points towards the conspiracy angle to disrupt law and order in the state. The police said they have taken cognizance of all such video recordings and are verifying he veracity of the clips.

Meanwhile, Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh today said no compensation would be given by his government to law breakers from his state who were killed in the Panchkula carnage. Capt said the main cause of the trouble was allowing such a large crowd to gather in Panchkula ahead of the court verdict.

Capt said Haryana CM ML Khattar had made no attempt to get in touch with him even though the Punjab intelligence agencies were regularly providing their counterparts in the neighbouring state with all inputs.
