Cricketer Ambati Rayudu allegedly manhandled and slapped a senior citizen for objecting to his rash driving. The incident took place on Thursday morning.

While the senior citizen was on his morning walk, Rayudu was on his way to the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, located in Uppal, here.

Eye witnesses say that Rayudu was driving his SUV rashly nearly brushing morning walkers in the vicinity of the stadium.  When the senior citizen, advised him to go slow Rayudu lost his cool and started shouting at the old man who refused to talk to reporters.

Following the altercation, fellow morning walkers say that the cricketer allegedly kept abusing the senior citizen, got out of his car and held the old man by the collar and slapped him. Some other young walkers intervened and pacified Ambati.

One of the fellow walkers B Vijay captured the entire episode with his mobile camera and released it to the media. The victim who is into fabrication business is not aware who the attacker was and chose not to file a complaint.

"It is unfair on part of a learned cricketer to stoop to the level of manhandling a senior citizen," Vijay said.

In December 2005, Rayudu had attacked Andhra Cricket Association secretary Shivlal Yadav's son Arjun Yadav, during a Ranji Trophy match in Anantapur of Andhra Pradesh. Field umpires had to separate them.
