JD(S) claims improved performance in Bangalore

JD(S) spokesperson YSV Datta on Saturday claimed that the party got one per cent more votes in the BBMP elections than in the 2008 Assembly polls. The total turnout of votes in favour of the JD(S) in 2008 was 14.75 pc. This time it went up to 17.72 pc.

Datta said that though the BJP had gained 111 seats in the polls its popularity had come down. During the 2008 Assembly polls it was polled 41.41 pc of votes. This time the party got only 38.24 pc of total votes.

The Congress also recorded negative growth in the elections. In the 2008 elections it had got 37.95 pc of votes. In the BBMP elections, the Congress got only 34.84 per cent votes, he said.
