Police crack Chandini Jain murder mystery

Cyberabad Police on Wednesday presented the accused, a minor in the murder case of 12 Standard student Chandini Jain before media.

Chandini’s putrefied body was found on the boulders of Aminpur on Tuesday morning two days after she disappeared from her Miyapur home. Chandini Jain who left her home on Saturday at 5pm was found dead in a rocky barren place few kilometers away.

According to Sandip Sandilya, the Cybderabad Police Commissioner Chandini’s boy friend Sai Kiran took her to the barren place on pretext of talking to her, killed her by strangulating her and pushed her down the rocks. The Police who have found clues of the boy accompanying Chandini on CCTV footage near the spot said that the boy’s father recognized his son from the footage, while the accused lied that he was playing cricket.

The police said that Sai who was a school mate of Chandini lured her to the spot with a motive of finishing her off. “We could say that it is a preplanned murder as the accused covered his face with a scarf while getting in and out of the three wheeler,’ the Commissioner said. Sai who threw Chandini’s mobile phone in a nearby water body took another route to return home.

However parents of the victim trashed police version and said that her daughter was never was in love with the boy who is only her friend. “He is a lunatic who lured her to the spot and killed her. My daughter is independent and very strong. How can a 17 year old girl full of life plead someone to marry her,” Nivedita, victim’s elder sister said urging police not to show mercy on the accused as he is a juvenile.
