Entrance fee at Bannerghatta Biological Park goes up

Then be prepared to pay more to enter the Park. After the hike in the prices of milk and other consumer items, citizens will now have to pay more for their weekend getaways. The entrance fees of the Bannerghatta Biological Park will be hiked from April 15.

Executive Director of Bannerghatta Biological Park, in an official press release here on Sunday, has informed that the fees had been hiked in view of the increase in the maintenance cost of the Park. The expenses for the maintenance of animals, their food, fuel for the Safari trips, and several other facilities had shot up. Hence, the Park authorities have decided to hike the fees, he said.

The fees had not been revised since 2007. With increase in the pay to the officials, staff members and the caretakers, it was extremely difficult for the authorities to run the show. Hence, the hike in the fees, according to the release.

Earlier, the fees on the week days and the fees during the week-ends and holidays were different. Presently, the revised fees will remain the same on all the seven days of the week, he added.

Earlier, on week days the entrance fees for the Park was Rs 30. Now it has been hiked to Rs 45. The Grand Safari was Rs 70 on week days and Rs 90 on holidays. It is now revised to Rs 115. The camera fees was Rs 20, earlier. It has now been hiked to Rs 25. The fees for video camera was Rs 110. It has now been hiked to Rs 200.
