Houses for slum dwellers

Housing Minister M Krishnappa on Wednesday laid the foundation for a project to build houses for slum dwellers at Swatantra Palya, Gopalapura and Vivekanandanagar (Muneshwara Block), under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

As many as 933 people in Gandhinagar consitutency will get houses. The work on the project, bagged by Amma Construction Company, is set to start from Thursday. The government will spend Rs 4.8 lakh on each 300 sqft house. "Five months have been given for project completion,"  Karnataka Slumboard Development Corporation deputy chief engineer Ravikumar said.

Global mgmt programme

The IIM Bangalore has partnered with German B-schools to launch International Management Programme for technologists. The programme brings key elements of Indian and German technology ecosystems to deliver the competencies required for global business.

Two premier German B-schools –-- the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS --- for an International Management Programme for Technologists (IMPT) – have become partners with IIMB to offer the innovative Executive Education Programme.

Waste management course
