Look pretty as a peach

The phrase “peaches and cream” complexion is indeed inspired by how gorgeous the pink, juicy fruit looks. But there may be more to the analogy than meets the eye. The lush, delicious peach can also ensure that you look like a million bucks by just feasting on it regularly. That’s correct… if you’re looking for a tasty and convenient way to look good, peaches will help you eat your way to beautiful and glowing skin.

Let’s take a look at the ways in which this fruit can give you that enviable flush you’ve always yearned for…

A treasure trove of vitamins: Listing the number of vitamins that peaches contain can be an exhausting exercise. From vitamin A, beta-carotene, and vitamin C (ascorbic acid) to vitamin E, K, B1, B2 and B3, peaches are rich in every essential nutrient that your skin needs to look healthy and impeccable. It is also a powerhouse of minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, manganese, phosphorous, zinc, and copper, which bring back the youthful lustre of your face. The fruit is also a luxury ingredient found in moisturisers, shampoos and conditioners.

Combatant of free radicals: Peaches are high in antioxidants such as lutein, zeaxanthin, and beta-crytoxanthin, which help in scavenging the oxygen-derived free radicals. These radicals are the most common reasons for ageing, dark spots and wrinkles. Peaches provide protection against all of these signs of deteriorating skin and restore its luminosity.

Natural moisturiser: Peaches are loaded with water content, which keeps the skin hydrated from within, naturally. By eating enough peaches, you are not just gifting your body an abundance of healthy vitamins and minerals, but are also replenishing its moisture. A mask of peach extract with yogurt works wonders for after-sun skin care to soothe sun burn and nourish the skin from within.

Storehouse of selenium: A paucity of selenium in the body increases the risk of skin cancer. A cup of peaches, for instance, contains 0.2 mg of this vital element, and can go a long way in ensuring the health of your skin and your entire body. Peach extract oil can be applied
at night for skin repair (specially on dry, dull and aged skin).

DIY exfoliator: Apart from eating peaches, you can also use them for making a home-made exfoliator. Just rub a slice of the pink fruit all over your face and get rid of the dead skin that has been dulling your glow.

Your skin will look radiant and nourished like never before thanks to a peach-rich diet and peach-focussed natural face packs.
