A 16-year old school boy committed suicide at his residence near here in Panchkula in Haryana after he reportedly indulged in the infamous Blue Whale challenge, police sources said on Monday.

The family on Sunday found six diagrams made by the boy, Karan Thakur, showing six different ways to commit suicide. These included jumping off the roof, drowning, coming in contact of train or car, hanging self with the ceiling fan and by cutting his wrist. Karan’s body was found hanging from the ceiling fan. Below the drawings in his notebook, Karan wrote: “I should just die, I don't deserve to live..no one like me..”

Karna was a budding pace bowler. The police treated the case as another suicide. But the family of the deceased boy informed the police on Monday of a notebook they chanced up while cleaning his room. A forensic team was pressed into action. Earlier this month, Karan’s parents took him to a psychiatrist when he admitted before them that he was addicted to some mobile game and needed help. Unfortunately, the doctor was unavailable that day and the family returned home without much help. Karan, it is learnt, also blocked one of his friends on Facebook as part of the Blue Whale challenge.
