Bodies of missing boys found in sea

Bodies of two boys, who had ventured into the sea near Sasihithul, and were missing since Monday afternoon, were found on Tuesday morning behind Kaikani Mutt, in Bengre Village, of Bhatkal taluk.

The deceased have been identified as Ganesh Masti Naik (12) and Vinayak Nagesh Naik (14), both residents of Sasihithul village.

According to police officials, the two boys had gone to sea shore on their cycles. However, the water current drew them while playing. Though the parents of both the boys searched for them all through the night on Monday they could not trace him.

It was only on Tuesday morning the relatives discovered the abandoned cycle and footwear of the boys after which they intensified their search, which ended in the finding of their bodies behind the mutt.

Murdeshwar police station officials visited the spot and conducted preliminary investigation. After postmortem, the bodies were handed over to their family.

While Ganesh was a class 6 student, Vinayak was class 8 student.A case of unnatural death has been registered by the police.
