Association stage protest condemning encroachment of Wakf property

Tamboli Sangh members condemning illegal encroachments on Wakf property staged a day-long dharna in front of deputy commissioner’s office here on Friday.

In a memorandum addressed to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, they said, land bearing Survey no 26/2 situated at Chidri road on the outskirts of Bidar is Wakf property notified as per the government order dated in 1973. However land mafia had been grabbing the property to which a police complaint was lodged against the illegal tress passers in July 2017, it stated.

Land grabbers had been illegally demolishing the graves using the JCB and levelling the land. They take up such works on public holidays or on evening hours, so that officials could not take action against them. One visit spot find large amount of earthen debris dumped at open site, they said.

Above said land is the property attached to religious Darga and holds religious significance. Muslims perform last rites here. Therefore, the district administration must initiate stern action against land grabbers, they demanded.
