'Shettar, Joshi not done anything for twin cities'

Karnataka Balavikas Academy Chairman Vedavyas Koulagi has criticised former chief minister Jagadish Shettar and MP Pralhad Joshi for neglecting the development of the twin cities in the last two decades.

In a press statement issued here, Mr Koulagi said, Mr Shettar represented Hubballi in the State Assembly for the last 23 years, and he also served as the chief minister and the speaker. Even
then he didn’t make any significant contribution to the twin cities.

Even Mr Joshi was MP for all these years, but he had not shown any true commitment in developing the twin cities. Instead of repenting for not doing anything for the twin cities, both were criticising the district in-charge minister. This they had been doing just to divert the attention of the people and to cover up their failure and incapability.

He said, Mr Shettar had claimed that he had sanctioned Rs 200 crore for the twin cities development. If that was the case, where that money had gone? he asked.

It was most unfortunate that the roads and drainages of the twin cities were worst and they can’t be compared even with the roads and drianages of a gram panchayat.

He said, the BJP leaders knew that their party would not come to power in the next elections. Therefore, they were repeatedly bringing BJP national president Amith Shah to the State.

The BJP leaders should realise that people were very much disappointed with Modi-led Central government’s failure in responding to their problems and they would not vote for the BJP at any cost in the next elections.
