Fake policemen rob women

Two strangers introduced themselves as policemen to Vijayalakshmi of HRBR Layout when she was on her way to her office at Vidhana Soudha. They even produced identity cards to establish their ‘identity.’ They told her that there was some tension in the area and advised her to safeguard her jewellry. They made her give her jewels worth Rs 1.5 lakh, covered them in a paper, returned to her and advised her to be careful. She opened the paper at her office in Finance Department at Vidhana Soudha and was shocked to see the jewels missing.

In a similar incident in Jalahalli, an unidentified person collected the jewellery of Savithramma worth Rs 80,000, covered them in a piece of paper and gave it to her near BEL Hospital in Mattikere. Savithramma grew suspicious a few minutes later. She opened the paper only to see her jewellry missing.

In Adugodi, two persons claiming to be policemen, told Nagaratna that crimes were increasing in and around Chowdeshwari temple. They advised her not to display gold chains and bangles and collected forcibly her ornaments, packed them in a paper and gave it to her. The jewels were missing when she opened it after sometime.

Autorickshaws recovered

The Sanjaynagar police arrested two persons in connection with theft of autorickshaws on Monday and recovered two autorickshwas worth Rs two lakh. They are Ashfaq Shah (24) of Padarayanpura and Mohammad Hasin (23) from Goripalaya. The autos were stolen from Kalasipalaya and SJ Park police stations respectively.
