JOIN USThe CCB sleuths on Tuesday arrested a man involved in selling ganja to college students and public.
According to the police, the arrested is Mohammed Ijaddin (32), a resident of Ammunje in Bantwal. Acting on a tip-off that Ijaddin was selling ganja at Pumpwell Circle, the police conducted a raid and arrested him.
The police seized 200 gram ganja and a mobile phone. It is said that Ijaddin was engaged in purchase of ganja at Kunjathooru in Kerala and was selling it in Mangaluru.
Couple killed in accident
A couple was killed when a private bus hit the two-wheeler they were travelling on, near a bridge at Uppinangady bus stand.
The deceased are Sheenappa Acharya and Vishalakshi of Koilathadka, Puttur taluk. They were travelling to Guruvayanakere from Uppinangady. The bus hit their vehicle as the driver tried to overtake another two-wheeler. Sheenappa lost control and both fell on the road, resulting in the bus running over them.
