Nine injured in clash over water in Muzaffarnagar

Eight women and a man were injured as two groups of villagers clashed over collecting water from a borewell here on Saturday, the police said.

The incident took place when the women had queued up to collect water from the public borewell at Prasoli village under Budhana police station, officials said.

A spat ensued when one of the women tried to jump the queue. A verbal confrontation turned violent and the women clashed with each other.

The injured were admitted to a local hospital.
