CBSE schools may move court

The Managements of Independent CBSE Schools’ Association is planning to move the court over the government order that all schools in the state should teach Kannada as a first or second language.

The managements have said they have no problem teaching Kannada as one of the languages. But schools will find it difficult if it is made mandatory as a first or second language.

M Srinivasan, president of the Association, said it would not be possible to make the teaching of Kannada as a first or second language mandatory. “We will first write to the government and hold discussions with it. We will approach the court, if we don’t get a remedy,” he told DH.
