SSLC, PUC exams, CET as per schedule: Sait

Last Updated 24 October 2017, 21:45 IST

There will be no change in the dates for SSLC, PUC exams and CET this academic year.

Primary and Secondary Education Minister Tanvir Sait told DH that examination would be held as per the schedule. Once Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB), Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) and Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) finalise the timetable, the department will submit the same to the Election Commission to prevent a clash of dates.

Meanwhile, KEA’s executive council meeting held on Monday decided to take sometime for the announcement of CET-2018 dates. CET will be held in April or May 2018 as per schedule. “We have decided to finalise CET 2018 dates only after the announcement of the timetable by DPUE and NEET by CBSE,” one of the members said.

Students need not worry as there would be a 30-day gap between the last paper of
II PUC examination and the first paper of CET, he added.

The CBSE is planning to conduct NEET on May 10, 2018. However, the date is yet to be announced officially.
