SSLC, II PU exams advanced

Last Updated 26 October 2017, 19:08 IST

The SSLC and II PU examinations have been advanced by one week due to Assembly elections in 2018.

The SSLC exam will be held from March 23 to  April 4 and II PU exam from March 1 to 16.

Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) and Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) on Thursday announced the tentative time-tables and invited objections to the new dates before November 24.

The KSEEB and DPUE are likely to stick to the new schedules. “The KSEEB has advanced Class X examination by one week due to Assembly polls,” Sumangala V, Director, SSLC Board told DH. Normally, the Class X exam is held from March 30. As against the second week of March every year, the DPUE has advanced II PU exam by a week.

“In 2017, II PU examination commenced on March 9, while in 2016 from March 7. Like previous years, the DPUE would complete the examination process before Ugadi,” Shika, DPUE Director, told DH.

“Nothing much would happen by advancing examination by one week. We will stick to the tentative time-table unless the situation warrants a change,” Sumangala added.
