JOIN USA 34-year-old man surrendered before the Peenya police, presuming his wife dead after he attacked her on Monday night.
The neighbours found Pushpa in a pool of blood and rushed her to a nearby hospital.
The police said the suspect Raghu, who works in a private company, had married Pushpa a year ago. The couple used to have frequent fights. On Monday evening, the couple had a heated argument over some issue. Pushpa collapsed after Raghu attacked her with a machete. Raghu thought that she was dead and surrendered to the Peenya police.
The suspect is said to have confessed to killing his wife. The police, during the investigation, found Pushpa was undergoing treatment at a hospital, the police added.
The police have arrested Raghu and the statement of Pushpa will be recorded once she recovers, said the police.
