JOIN USAn woman and her daughter committed suicide by jumping into the sump in Sanjeevini Nagar in Mudalapalya on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Parvathamma (56) and her daughter Asha (32). The police have recovered a suicide note left behind by the mother-daughter duo. Vijayanagar police said Parvathamma was staying with her husband Anjanappa, a retired government employee and her daughter Asha. The couple were depressed as their daughter was physically challenged and they were not finding a groom for her.
Anjanappa was not at home when both committed suicide. He returned home in the evening and searched for them but could not find them. Later he found their bodies in the sump. The police have registered a case after taking Anjanappa's statement and are investigating the case.
