Undertrial assaults police constable

An undertrial assaulted a police constable while he was being escorted back to the prisons from the court, in Manglauru on Wednesday.

Nooman, a resident of Punjalakatte, was brought to court from the district prisons, in connection with a case. While returning, he assaulted constable Kuriakose with the handcuff, near PVS Circle. The constable was injured in the attack. The traffic police, who were nearby, immediately took Nooman into custody.
