Bengaluru, DHNS: Actor Zaira Wasim, of Dangal and Secret Superstar fame, unveiled the theme of this year's Midnight Marathon -- Run to Benefit -- here on Thursday.

The race will be held at the Karnataka Trade Promotion Organisation (KTPO) in Whitefield on December 16.

Zaira, named the youth ambassador for the 11th edition of the event, said, "I feel proud to be part of this cause. Also, we take a step forward towards fitness and at the same time, it is a lot of fun. So I am really looking forward to it."

The organisers explained the steps taken to ensure the safety of women runners at night.

"We are absolutely aware of the safety aspects of women in the night. We have the firm support of the police. We actually have a battalion of 120 people. We also have a team of 15 bikers, who are constantly on the move," the organisers stated. "We have also hired 150 people from a security agency."
