Now, Haryana blocks Padmavati release

Haryana on Friday joined the chorus of dissenting voices opposing the release of controversial movie 'Padmavati,' due for release on December 1.

Haryana senior cabinet minister Anil Vij argued that history was not a subject of entertainment. The government is unlikely to allow its release in Haryana until the controversy is addressed in right earnest. Vij said history and fiction were two different things. There cannot be any distortion of history and a woman's dignity must be upheld at all cost, he added.
