Lokayukta court convicts BBMP inspector

A Lokayukta special court has convicted an in-charge work inspector for graft. The convict A T Vijay Kumar was arrested by the Lokayukta police while accepting a bribe in 2012.

Lokayukta police case was that the work inspector Vijay Kumar had approached the complainant, who was constructing his house in Govindapura. Vijay Kumar threatened to pass an order to stop the construction. He demanded a bribe of Rs 4,000 not to pass such an order. Vijay Kumar was trapped while accepting the bribe amount.

Lokayukta special court (CCH 79) judge Ravindra Hegde sentenced Vijay Kumar to undergo imprisonment to one year and slapped a fine of Rs 10,000.
