Mysuru gets two more Swachhatha ambassadors

The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has selected two more ambassadors for its Swachhatha Abhiyaan. They are seer Athmajananda Swami of Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama and Yoga Guinness record-holder H Kushi.

The MCC already has members of the erstwhile royal family Pramoda Devi Wadiyar and Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, and cricketer Javagal Srinath as the ambassadors.

According to a press note from Dr Ramachandra, Health Officer of the MCC, the new ambassadors would be introduced to the incumbent ambassadors at the Mysuru Palace at 10 am on Sunday.

Mysuru, which topped three surveys over two years as the cleanest city in India, slipped to the fifth place last year. Officials said, despite the efforts of the officials and the staff of the MCC, the rating slipped due to the poor response from the residents. So, efforts are underway to encourage the participation of the people in the campaign to gain the top place once again.
