JOIN USShivamogga: A man was gored to death by a bull during a bull-taming event at Ayanur near Shivamogga on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Chandrashekhar (45), a resident of Balekoppa near Kumsi in Shivamogga taluk. He was watching the event, which was organised by the villagers, despite a ban.
Deputy Commissioner M Lokesh said the district administration had not granted permission for holding the event. The villagers told the officials that they would only perform puja to bulls and there won't be any taming event. Police have registered cases against 29 persons in connection with the incident.
The district administration had banned bull-taming after two youths were gored to death last year during the event at Tallur village in Sorab taluk.
