Man hacked to death

Last Updated 08 January 2015, 17:26 IST

A man has been hacked to death in broad daylight at his house at Bellale village, in the taluk, on Thursday.

The victim has been identified as Krishnegowda alias Sunami Krishna (38), son of Narasegowda, a resident of Manikyanahalli. However, he was residing in a house at HLBC (Hemavathi) Quarters in Bellale.

Police sources said, Krishnegowda was alone at home, watching television, when the miscreants, probably a gang, arrived in a car and assaulted him with lethal weapons.

By the time the neighbours learnt about the incident, the gang had fled the scene.
Police said, Krishnegowda was the prime accused in the murder of one Ashoka, a resident of Manikyanahalli, who was killed in March 2012. He was recently released on bail. So, they suspect that it might be a case of revenge.

Superintendent of Police Bushan G Borase, DySP Geetha Prasanna, Circle Inspector B S Prakash and Sub-Inspector Chandrasekhar visited the spot.
