"Hasiru Habba" on Children's Day


Shri Maruthi Vidya Samsthe at Arinaganahalli Gate had organised a "Hasiru Habba" programme to mark the Children's Day celebrations on Tuesday.

On part of the programme, all the students, teachers, SDMC members and village residents planted various varieties of spalings on the school premises. Members of the School Administrative Council, Venkatesh, Subbanna, Krishna Reddy, Shrinivasa Reddy, head mistress K Sujatha and activist Ashok Rampura took part in the programme.

Grievance meeting on November 22

Kolar: Grievance meeting will be held at the respective taluks in the district.

Public can submit their grievances at the meeting which will be held at the Taluk Panchayat office at Mulbagal at 11 am. The grievances will accepted upto 1 pm.

In Kolar Gold Fields, the meeting will be held at the Club King George Auditorium at Robertsonpet on November 27. At Srinivaspur, the meeting will be held at the Taluk Panchayat auditorium on November 28. Public can register their grievances against official apathy, dereliction of duty, corruption and graft cases.

This was stated in a press release issued by the district lokayukta Superintendent of Police B Lokesh here on Wednesday.

Sports and Cultural programmes on November 21

Kolar: The Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Woman and Child Welfare Department and Physically Challenged and Senior Citizens Empowerment Department, together, will organise a Sports and Cultural programme for the physically challenged at the Visvesvaraya District Stadium in the city on November 21.

The sports events will be held between 10 am and 1 pm and the cultural programmes will be held from 2.30 pm. Physically challenged persons between the age group of six and 40 years can take part in the various events, according to an official press release issued here on Wednesday.

Association's new body elected

Kolar: The new members of the undivided Kolar district Distributors and Sellers Cooperative Association were elected at a meeting held recently.

Chinnamma, M Narayanappa, Rathnamma, Ravanamma, Raniyamma, Ramakrishnappa, Latha, N S Shankar, Shanthamma, Hanumappa, V Muniraju, Subramani and G Harinath have been elected unopposed. This was stated in a press release issued by the election officer Naganna Gowda of the association here on Wednesday.

Office-bearers elected to Dalit Sahitya Parishat

Kolar: The office-bearers of the taluk unit of the Dalit Sahitya Parishat were elected at a meeting held in the city recently.

K M Kommanna has been elected as the honorary president, Shrinivas as the president, Inchara Narayanswamy as the general secretary, B V Nanjundappa as the treasurer, R Sumithra and Shrinivas as the vice-presidents, G Shrinivas and R Shrinivas as the directors.
