Bajrang Dal, VHP to hold Datta Jayanti Abhiyan

Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishat will organise Datta Jayanti Abhiyan in Chikkamagaluru from November 23 to December 3, Bajrang Dal regional convener Sharan Pumpwell said.

Briefing media persons here on Thursday, he said the devotees will wear Dattamala at Kamadhenu Ganapathi Temple on November 23 at 10 am. After taking bath in Honnammana Halla on December 3, they will have the Darshana of the Datta Paduke at Inam Dattatreya Peeta. Anasooya Jayanti will be held on December 1. Women will take out a Shobhayatre from Bolarameshwara Temple to Town Canteen and later to Datta Peeta, he added.  

Sharan said religious rituals, like Homa, will be performed at the Peeta on December 2. A Shobhayathre will be taken out from Kamadhenu Ganapathi temple through Basavanahalli Main Road and MG Road and it will culminate at Azad Maidan. A public meeting at the Maidan will be addressed by Bajrang Dal National Co-coordinator Sohan Singh Solanki, he said.  

Stating that Datta Jayanti will be held on December 3, Sharan said that religious rituals will be held under the leadership of seers.

To create awareness on Datta Jayanti Abhiyan, a Datta Ratha Yatre will be flagged off from Horanadu Annapoorneshwari Temple premises on November 24 at 11 am. The Ratha will pass through Kalasa, Mudigere, Aldooru, Balehonnur, Sringeri, NR Pura, Tarikere, Kadur, Sakharayapattana and will reach Chikkamagaluru on December 2.
