As a part of Datta mala abhiyana, the Sri Rama Sene members carried out shobhayathre in Chikkamagaluru on Sunday. Naga Sadhus, Datta devotees had the darshana of Datta Paduke, at Inam Datta Peeta, at Bababudangiri.

The shobhayathre commenced from Kamadhenu Ganapathi temple and passed through Basavanahalli road, Hanumanthappa circle, Mahatma Gandhi road and culminated at Bolarameshwara temple. As many as 10 Naga sadhus took part in the procession.

Devotees wearing Datta mala were seen holding Bhagavadhwaja and sang bhajans throughout the shobhayathre. Later, they had the darshana of Datta Paduke at Inam Datta Peeta at Bababudangiri.
The devotees also organised Datta homa, Ganahoma, and religious meeting at Datta Peeta hall. The district administration had restricted the entry of tourists to Bababudangiri.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri Rama Sene National President Pramod Muthalik said: "I have decided to enter politics to uphold Hindutva."

"Those who used the row over Datta Peeta for political gain have not done anything to solve the row over Datta Peeta. I want to find a solution to the embroglio on Datta Peeta through political power," he said.

"The state government is testing the patience of Hindus over Datta Peeta issue. The government should remember the Babri Masjid incident of December 6, 1992. Datta Peeta should be entrusted to Hindus. The government should also solve the row over Kithur Chennamma Maidan in Hubbali amicably," he said.

He said that if the police fail to arrest the culprits who murdered Sri Rama Sene activist Sharanu Biradar in Kalburgi by Monday evening, the members of Hindu organisations will stage a protest in front of the DC's office in Kalburgi on November 21.
