Mysuru bandh on Nov 22 says seer

Seer Jnanaprakasha Swami of Urilinga Peddimutt said, "Mysuru bandh will be observed on November 22 to press for the arrest of Madhusudan under treason law for having issued defamatory statements against the Constitution".

He was addressing a press meet, here, on Monday. "The bandh is to condemn the statement of former MLC Go Madhusudan and also against the inactive state government, district administration and Police department. It is a shame that he has not been arrested so far. Our peaceful protests so far has not yielded any results. Even the state government is not bothered about Constitutional threat. I wonder, which Constitution are these governments function under," he said.

"Members of Bheema Sene have already filed an FIR against ex-MLC Madhusudan at Devadurga Police Station, in Raichur district. However, the police have not taken any action in this regard so far," he pointed out.

"The government is shunning the protests taken out by members of various organisations, lawyers and others. But, students, research scholars, advocates, writers, members of PFI and SDPI will take part in the protest. Motorbike rallies would be held at several places across the city," he said.

"A protest march will be taken out from Ashoka Circle in Ashokapuram up to the Deputy Commissioner's office, in the city. A memorandum will be submitted to the DC. Schools, colleges and transport services will remain closed during the bandh," the seer said.

Dalits' Welfare Trust president Shantharaju, seer Nagalinga Swami, Samvidhana Samrakshana Horata Samithi convener N Bhaskar, Puttananjaiah, V Ganesh, Yadathore Mahadevaiah, Choranahalli Shivanna, Devanuru Puttananjaiah and Sneha Souharda Sangha president R Siddabasavaiah were present.
